Israeli army footage showed that Hezbollah’s missiles were stopped in the sky. Giving information, the Army said that iron beam has been used for the first time. According to Israel’s Defense Ministry, Iron Beam has been developed along with Iron Dome. Iron Beam is designed to neutralize a wide variety of air threats, including missiles, drones, rockets and mortars.
Israeli officials say the technology could usher in a new era of war as the country faces growing threats from Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Israel has been working on iron beams for more than a decade. This defense system was first shown in 2014 and was declared operational in September 2025 after completion of development and final testing. Unlike conventional interceptor missiles, Iron Beam is a laser-based system that relies on a continuous energy source. As long as there is power in it, there is no danger of running out of ammunition in the system. Israeli officials have described this technology as a game-changer in defense against projectile attacks.
