Sheikh Hasina’s son Wazeed ready to join hands with BNP

Dhaka. Counting of votes continues after the elections in Bangladesh and results are coming soon. In the initial trends, Tariq Rahman’s party BNP seems to be winning many seats. However, Jamaat-e-Islami is also lagging behind. Amidst all this, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy has made a shocking claim. Joy has hinted at extending a hand of friendship towards her arch rival party, BNP. While talking about the future of his party in an interview, Wajed admitted that in the current circumstances, BNP has emerged as the largest party in Bangladesh.
According to media reports, Awami League is banned in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina left the country. In such a situation, Joy and the party have adopted the strategy of ‘friend of the enemy’ to save their political future. He has revealed that his party will soon contact Tariq Rehman. This step of Wajed is being considered as a deliberate attempt to stop the growing influence of Jamaat-e-Islami. Sajeeb Wajed said that he will contact BNP soon. His statement is a major change in the old strategy of Awami League, which has been considering BNP as its biggest enemy for decades.
Wazed has warned that if Jamaat comes to power or increases influence in Parliament, the era of terrorism will start again in Bangladesh. He claimed that Jamaat had low public support and was gaining ground only because progressive parties were not allowed to campaign. Let us tell you that after voting on 299 seats, counting of votes is going on. Initial trends show a close contest between the BNP alliance and Jamaat-e-Islami. According to the latest figures, BNP seems to be getting 46.7 percent votes and Jamaat alliance is getting 48.5 percent votes. While Sajeeb Wazed is talking about the future, Sheikh Hasina in her statement issued from India has called for the cancellation of this election, calling it fake, illegal and unconstitutional. He claimed that a conspiracy for election rigging was hatched on the night of 11 February itself.
