Washington. Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Malaysia on Sunday-Monday. According to American seismologists, the tremors of the Borneo Island earthquake were felt near Sabah state of Malaysia on Monday morning. The report said that the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 7.1 on the reactor scale. It is being told that the epicenter of the earthquake was 100 kilometers away from the coastal state capital Kota Kinabalu. Its depth was 619.8 kilometers, due to which despite the high intensity, there is a possibility of less loss of life and property. Let us tell you that the earthquake occurred at 10:27 am Indian time.
According to the report, immediately after the earthquake, concerns about tsunami had increased in the coastal areas. However, the US Tsunami Warning Center has not issued any alert. He clarified that the extreme depth of the earthquake means there is no expectation of a tsunami. The Malaysian Meteorological Department has described the intensity of this earthquake as 6.8 magnitude. According to the department, tremors were felt in many areas of the west coast of Sabah and Sarawak state. The department is closely monitoring the situation and the administration has been alerted for any emergency.
